Kalanggaman Island

Kalanggaman Island is one of the most beautiful beach and tourist destination in Palompon, Leyte, Philippines. It is famous for its crystal clear water, long sand bars, and very fine white sand. Kalanggaman Island is also known as the virgin island.

This photo was taken  after the typhoon Yolanda that is why the statue of the dolphin is not colorful and look so much presentable unlike before the typhoon devastated the area.

It has sandbar on both sides similar to the wings of a bird. Bird in cebuano means "langgam" that is why we call it Kalanggaman. There is a long sand bar at the right side of the island (when you are facing at the front of it). And it is one of the perfect place if you want to have some photo shoots.

 

 Tips:

• Bring enough water, there is no potable water in the island.
• You can bring foods, beverages, etc. because there is no restaurant  in the island.
• There is no electricity in the island so better bring your power bank and if you stay overnight bring solar lamp.
• You can bring your own tents. There is no resort in the island.
• There are cottages for rent 
• Clean restrooms and shower areas are available.

Cabintan, Ormoc City

Let's Explore and Discover the Beauty of Cabintan, Ormoc City

Have you ever experienced traveling in a 'bukid' where you can witness the beauty of its own? Barangay Cabintan, Ormoc City is known as the "Little Baguio" in the city of Ormoc because of its very cold temperature that fogs in the morning and also in the afternoon around 5:00-6:00pm.

Barangay Cabintan is also known as the "Vegetable Basket" of Leyte which produces a lot of vegetables and spices throughout  Leyte.

 Not only vegetables exist in Cabintan but it has also different kinds of fruits and one of this is Water Melon. It is one of the fruits that survived only in a cold temperature.

Here, I find it so relaxing, awesome, full of adventure, lots of different fruits especially vegetables that are healthy and nutritious.

CABINTAN, ORMOC CITY

It is the best place you have to visit.

REMINDERS:

1. Expect that there are only few fresh meats because you are too far away from the City of Ormoc.

2. You must bring thick jackets, pajamas and socks especially in the evening.

3. Must have stock of foods that are not available in the farm.

4. Expect that the way is rocky and sometimes muddy.

5. Expect a lot of walking and the water is cold which leads you take a bath about 12:00 noon until 2:00pm.

San Juan Beach Palompon, Leyte

San Juan Beach is located in barangay San Juan, Palompon, Leyte. It has a stunning sand and beautiful beach.

It is known of its very affordable cottages for only P100 - P150. They don't have any entrance fee. The comfort room which is also affordable for only P5 and P10 if you want to take a bath.

  

You can rent these cottages for an unlimited time. You can also bring foods and beverages.

You can do everything you want because this is a free zone. San Juan beach is also known of its 'suroyanan' where couples having a date on this place, family and friends or picnics and parties.

You can also take a glimpse of the sunset. Most people preferred to take some pictures here when the sun goes below the horizon.

San Juan is the perfect place for recreational activities.

Enjoying your day in San Juan is the one of the most unforgettable moment you ever have.

Lantaw Nature Park

Punkay hill is a level-3 edifice for viewing called Lantaw Nature Park is an emerging park located in  Palompon, Leyte, Philippines where you can commune with nature and see eternity. It is also known for its wonderful bird's eye-view where you can see the whole Palompon.

Before you can reach the Lantaw park, you must first encounter the most challenging part which is the hiking. It is the interesting part because you can climb like a monkey using ropes which are tied up to be the visitor's guide for them to be in safe in hiking.

This is the highest area of the tourist spot in Palompon.

This is the best place for the nature lovers,  poets, and lovers because it feels so relaxing with the green surroundings. The place was surrounded by trees and other green plants. 

Lantaw Nature Park is the perfect place if you want to take a glimpse of the sunset.

You can see the entire Palompon.

Beside of its pleasing place, there are also cottages for those who want to take longer time, for picnics, or for those who are just even enjoying the day.

There are cottages for rent for only 100, 150 or 500 pesos and this can be for short stay or an overnight lodging.

These viewing decks are now free. For convenience, available for rent are chairs

 (10 pesos each) and tables (20 pesos each)
